Congrats to The Class of 1987----It's your 25th Class Reunion This Year!
The Year Was 1987.... This was the year that marked the beginning of the end of the Cold War. The I.N.F. (Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces) Treaty was the first treaty to eliminate a complete class of weapons. It was also the first treaty to include an in-depth verification program. Regan and Gorbechav met in Washington and signed this historic treaty. This was the beginning of a new openness and reform known as "glasnost."
In Sports that year the NBA-L.A. Lakers beat the Celtics 4-2. The Minnesota Twins beat the Cardinals 4-3 to win the World Series. The New York Giants beat the Denver Broncos 39-20 in the Super Bowl XXI. The popular songs that year were "Open Your Heat-Madonna"-"Livin on a Prayer-Bon Jovi" Jacob's Ladder-Huey Lewis and the News." Some of the most popular movies were "Beverly Hills Cop III, Dirty Dancing, Lethal Weapon, Fatal Attraction and A Nightmare On Elm Street." The most popular TV shows of the day were "The Cosby Show, Roseanne, A Different World and Cheers." Of course, I just touched on a small part of 1987---you were there!
